Cubs shutout Astros

Posted by Maddog on 07/20/08 at 11:24 AM • 8 Comments

Just needed a new thread.  The Cubs won their first game of the 2nd half by winning the finale in Houston 9-0.  Dempster was excellent once again.  8 innings, 0 runs.

ah, that fresh thread smell.

this cards/pads game is getting strange

walking 2 in a row and then leaving the pitcher in has always seemed strange to me.  I wish I had numbers to back it up, but it always seems to affect the pitcher.

Well, if we win in Arizona we’ll pick up ground on one the teams trailing us.  Of course, if we lose, that’s bad.

7 runs on 2 home runs to tie and to win
